I've been collecting frogs for over 15 years and still love it!!! I can't count the number of frogs I have in and outside my home. I also have frogs in my car rear view mirror. I started collecting frogs way before I knew about the spiritual significance such as Fully Rely on God. However, I was internally grateful to find out that is why I was lead to the love of frogs. I'm not what you may call a collector, but I have either bought or received frogs from all over the world. I treasure the small frogs to the bigger ones I got as a gift. I'm now known as the FrogLady and happy to have received this honor. May you all continue to find peace and serenity in any thing you do!!!!

I have been collecting frogs for forty years. I use to play with them as a child. While shopping w/my parents in a furniture store I spied a ceramic frog that looked just like the toads I use to play with. By the time we left my Dad had purchased the frog and the rest is history. I now have well over 1500 frogs including a frog Christmas tree and a grandson that calls me "Ribbit".

A year and a half ago I traveled to Costa Rica on a vacation and it was absolutley TERRIFIC!!! Costa Rica is the BEST PLACE EVER! Anyway, I learned a whole lot about frogs and I was fascinated by frogs, especially red-eyed tree frogs, they're my favorite. I was buying a lot of stuff that had to do with red-eyed tree frogs. And before I knew it, I had a collection! Now I have twenty-seven things in my red-eyed tree frog collection! I am hoping to get a frog for a pet soon, buy that might not happen because I already have a dog, a cat, and a hamster. Frogs rule!

I have a frog story for you. I am sure many of you are going to think this is crazy. My father was a, in one word, himself. He opened his heart, home and family to many. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

Anyway ~ My story starts out: My father has passed away 6 years ago and when he did there had been a larger frog on my mothers door step where they lived. This frog would come every evening like clock work. I used to tell my Mom that it was Dad. Mom and I moved recently and the only thing that had made us sad was that our frog would not be around anymore. To our surprise a frog has appeared at both our homes. I am sure they are 2 different frogs but, Mom and I find such peace that Dad is with us.

My story ends by saying I have been a frog collector for about 6 years. I found a ceramic frog and bought this piece for my Mom in our time of healing because it was a silly looking frog with a silly looking smile on his face he was so cute. He actually appeared to look like my Dad not that he was a guy who look like a frog but, looking at this piece made me feel like Dad was around. Call me crazy but, it has gotten us through many hard times and Mom and I laugh thinking what My Dad must think that we have found peace in a frog and that we think he has come back as one.

This is my story. We have collected many frogs along the way. Finding Linda's Store was a great afternoon with My Mom and My children. Thanks Linda, for giving us a Girls' day out to remember my Dad. See you soon.

Years ago, my husband Tom was given a 2 ton concrete frog made by Robert Cassilly, nationally known sculpter who now owns the City Museum. Tom's co-worker/runner friends collected for this over the summer and kept it a secret until it was delivered on his birthday.

The reason: Tom ran into the frog's snout while he was running with these friends in front of Cassilly's studio in St. Louis. The other runners made it past the frog's snout that was hanging over the sidewalk, but the sun was in Tom's eyes and he plowed right into it. His friends looked back to him as he was splattered on the ground with his broken rib!

Ever since then he is known as frogman! He always gets a kick out of new fun frog gifts and cards... never tires of the frogs!

A few years after he got the frog, he was on a ladder leaning up against a tree next to this J.E.T. -- his friends named it "Jogger Eating Toad". Tom didn't secure the tall ladder to the tree (I was not home), was at the top, and was reaching his body around the tree to cut off a branch... with his CHAIN SAW!!! You guessed it... the ladder slipped, the chain saw flew out into the yard, and he came down... on the frog.

The result is a bit gory, so hang on... He broke a finger, gashed an elbow, and almost lost his nose. He is screaming to the kids inside, but they didn't hear him. He drags his bloody self in the house, my daughter threw a towel at him, and drove him off to the ER at St. John's in Washington, MO. I was working there on the floor as a nurse and went down to see poor Tom. Fortunately, I knew most of the staff that was tending to him. The ER doc looks at me funny as Tom tells him, "I fell on a frog."

He was beautifully sewn up and looks like new! He has received MUCH ribbing and MUCH warning to stay away from his 2-ton buddy... nope, he loves him yet! His "Frank the Frog" is plunked in our yard... there to stay forever or he goes with us if we move! It took a flat-bed semi to move it here... that was followed by a 10-car caravan for his party.

A friend sent me an email that had a little message plus the letters F R O G which was an acronym for "fully rely on God" using the letters from frog. I then started collecting frogs to remind me to do just that "fully rely on God"

I work at a store called Farm and Fleet. Right after I started, I kept getting sick and would lose my voice. A friend told me I sounded like I was "croaking" and started calling me "Froggy". I am now known as "Froggy, Frogger, and Frogs". Everyone there started bringing me frogs because they said they saw them and "I thought of you right away!" At first it bothered me that people were giving me the frogs all the time, but then I realized how happy it made them to do it. I now gladly receive any and all frogs with a grateful heart and a joy to know that I have so many friends.

I am a long time frog collector, now disabled, but am currently looking for sweet frog tee shirts & shirts I can wear, along with hats made with frogs or frog fabric. Also looking for a frog cookbook, & frog rubber stamps to add to my collection. Enjoy frog emailing. Wish I knew a fellow frog collector in my area. Thanks.

Beginning in May, the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will have an exhibit on frogs called "Toadally Frogs." This exhibit will come to us from the Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans. It features 25 species of frog and inter-actives.

I am developing a FrogFest for July 23, 2006. I would like to know if you know of groups or people that should be involved? I can be reached at 805.682.4711, ext. 170 Tuesday to Saturday. Thank you for the consideration.

No this is not a joke, I am French and this is my true family name, furthermore I teach English! At school my name is regularly turned into"froggy" of course! As you can imagine the more artistic ones sometimes decorate their English papers with messages such as "have a nice holiday" or even once: "sorry! my paper is an absolute mess."

Would you believe it, my students started my collection of frogs for me!!! They offered me my first frog a lovely, cuddly soft toy, then they became creative: one of them sculpted a green piece of chalk, and a few others made various origami. So I have collected frogs for 20 years and I have approximatelly 200 in all sorts of materials: hard stones, ceramics, wood,etc...

My daughters got my frog collection started about 20 years ago when they bought me a little glass frog sitting on a mirror. They bought it for me for Christmas from 'Santa's Workshop' at their gradeschool. Now, all these years later, I have frogs galore, belong to frog collectors club and run my very own 'frog store'. I also have met so many new 'froggie' people since then who have become my good friends. (Frog people are the best, and most fun!!)

My favorite frog is still my little glass frog on it's mirror.
